Students are encouraged to be law abiding, upholding standards and values aimed at making them responsible individuals in the future. Every student is charged to live by the school code of conduct within and outside the school environment.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES

In the spirit of providing holistic education and ensuring that children become well rounded citizens, Students are obligated to join 2 clubs. Clubs and societies meetings are held on Wednesdays.

  • CHOIR: The choir seeks to train individuals on the art of singing and reading of musical notes. Interested members also undergo piano lessons. The choir is open to all and performs at all school programmes and special events.
  • CADET CORPS: The FLIS Army Cadet Corps offers members the opportunity to learn discipline, hard work and integrity through various physical, social, and intellectual activities. The club hosts a parade during the School’sSpeech and Prize Giving Day and Graduation ceremony.
  • SCOUTS: Originally formed by Lord Baden-Powell, the FLIS Scout club aims to contribute to the physical, social, and intellectual well-being of its members. They undertake many charitable activities around the community.
  • GIRLGUIDES: This club is designed for girls. Just as their motto (Be Prepared), members are trained on how to survive in different circumstances. They are offered the opportunity to learn how to use everyday materials for their survival.
  • RED CROSS: Through this club, members are taught how to prevent and alleviate human suffering through humanity. Members are taught basic first aid skills and healthy lifestyle tips.
  • FRENCH CLUB: This objective of this club is to promote the excellent speaking of French language through various French activities such as songs, poems, drama etc.
  • MATHS AND SCIENCE CLUB: The club aims to make teaching and learning of maths and science fun and interesting. It teaches its members new, innovative, and systematic approaches to solving maths and science problems.
  • DRAMA CLUB: The club offers students’ the opportunity to exhibit their acting skills and nurtures them for the Creative Arts Industry. They perform during school programmes such as Graduation ceremony, Traditional day, Career day.
  • READ WIDE, WRITERS AND DEBATERS CLUB: The aim of the club is to promote good reading habits and inculcate in its members a passion for reading. The writing skills of members are also honed, and members are given the opportunity to develop their public speaking abilities and debate on pertinent issues happening around the world. Active members are selected to form part of the school’s editorial board.
  • ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Business start-ups have become the order of the day; members are given the opportunity to unearth and explore hidden innovative ideas and are taught how to harness those ideas into profitable ventures.
  • CULTURAL CLUB: The cultural club exposes and teaches its members the various Ghanaian traditional dances. Members are also trained on how to play the traditional instruments and perform during school programmes and special events.
