Family Life international School (FLIS) was established as an Early Childhood Care and Development Centre on 15th May 2002 by the Executive Director, Mrs Millicent Owusu, and her husband, Mr Paul Owusu of blessed memory.
The school was started in a four-bedroom house, which previously occupied the space where the administration block is currently located, with three children and one attendant.
The name of the school denotes the type of service they planned to render and continue to render, that is, a home away from home, a place where parents will feel comfortable leaving their children knowing that they will be given quality education which will set them up for life.
In September 2005, the first batch of graduates from the pre-school department were inducted into Basic one thus kicking off primary division. These children later went on become the first graduates of Family Life International school entering the Senior High School system.
2014(1st B.E.C.E)
Family Life International School was represented by 15 candidates at the 2014 Basic Examination Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E). The outstanding performance of our pioneers resulted in the school placing 1st in the GA WEST MUNICIPAL with an average aggregate of 6.07.
Family Life International School Ltd currently runs a Pre-School, Basic and Junior High School division housed in three storey building blocks, with a total population of 700 students. The methodology of teaching is a mixture of the Froebel and Montessori concepts which provides children with a sound and holistic education.
Family Life International School is an early childhood / basic christian school, which intends to help parents in New Achimota and surrounding communities. The school will continue to train these children in the family setting and provide high moral standards by including biblical principles into our children from this early age.
Our professional and friendly staff will give the children a VERY STRONG foundation, from preschool through to primary and J.H.S. At Family Life International School, we emphasize the need for early education because we believe the most important period in one’s life is the formative years, i.e. 0-6years.
Family Life International School is a child-centred school which emphasizes the holistic christ-centered development of the child. We thus engage the children in various activities that will develop them socially, psychologically, physically, mentally and morally.
Educators at Family Life see each child as unique with unique abilities and capabilities and skills. As Educators, we do not only teach but also, we observe, direct, and guide the children to achieve their God-given potentials by cultivating in them their own natural desire to learn.
